I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to intern for Triad Strategies this semester. Currently, I am a junior at Dickinson College majoring in Political Science. My ambition and curiosity have propelled me into this experience, which has strengthened my interest in policy and public affairs. My interests in government relations and public communications have allowed me to work with both sides of the “lobbying coin” here at Triad.
I grew up in Loudoun County, Virginia. The proximity to Washington, DC, and the area’s diversity have provided me with opportunities to learn and foster my interest in politics. During high school, I was the co-president of the Rise To Run Club, which worked to inspire local women to run for political office and build foundations for students to gain interest in politics. I discovered Dickinson through its respectable academic reputation and my commitment to the Women’s Volleyball Team. During my time at Dickinson, I have most enjoyed my classes on the intersection of media and politics. I am thankful that Triad has been accommodating with my class schedule and volleyball commitments.
One of the first things I noticed at Triad is that the team is full of dedicated people who value every member. Triad is the perfect blend of a supportive community and a group committed to delivering results. This internship has given me a safe space to learn, make mistakes, dive deeper into my interests, and discover new passions.
I am excited about what #TeamTriad will teach me in the future. From research to committee meetings on the Hill, it has been a great experience. I am indebted to Susan, Dan, and Manny Vasko for connecting me to Team Triad. Who knew a summer dog walking job could transform into such an amazing opportunity?
