The Philadelphia Tribune recently honored several women from throughout the southeast region with their Women of Achievement award.

Each year, the Tribune pays tribute to African American leaders of distinction, highlighting their stories and efforts to make positive impacts throughout the community.

Some hundreds tuned in, virtually, for this year’s event which spotlighted a dozen movers and shakers.

“Triad Strategies salutes all of the 2022 honorees,” said Roy Wells, Triad’s President & Managing Partner. “Each of this year’s awardees work tirelessly on behalf of their organizations to make differences in the lives of others. They are each change agents, working to support, uplift and expand efforts to create a more fair and just society.

“We’d also like to shine a light on our partner and friend, Angie Bowie, Lyft’s Public Policy Manager, and a 2022 honoree. Angie, congratulations to you and the full class of 2022. Cheers to a well-deserved recognition.”

As a part of her Lyft responsibilities, Bowie oversees the conceptualization and implementation of Lyft’s political, regulatory and legislative strategy development. She has more than 25 years of experience at all levels of government, which includes touchpoints with the nonprofit sector, health and welfare programs and environmental efforts.

Additionally, Bowie has also shared her knowledge and expertise as an instructor and adjunct professor at schools such as Temple University, West Chester University, Camden County College, Rowan University, and Delaware County Community College.

“It is an honor to be recognized in this way,” said Bowie. “I know that representation matters and what I do today can potentially be the spark for the little girl who sees herself when she sees me, tomorrow. I know that women have a voice and should have seats at every table to ensure that any policies and procedures being enacted are inclusive and reflective of all. I will continue my work to open doors and provide opportunity for other women to take their rightful places at the table.

“I sincerely thank the Philadelphia Tribune for this honor and am proud to be among the many doing the work.”
