On November 27 of 2024, The Philadelphia Tribune, the oldest continually published newspaper serving the African American community in the United States, celebrated the 140th anniversary of its founding.  As we near the end of Black History Month, it is important to recognize that this publication has been at the forefront of advancing the social, cultural, economic and political advancement of the black community in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley.

As a firm whose purpose is to elevate diverse voices for decisions that matter – elevating the voice of a publication to both public and private decision-makers in Pennsylvania, whose purpose is to elevate the voices Philadelphia’s black community, has been both a privilege and an honor for Triad Strategies

Today, under the leadership of its current president, Robert W. Bogle, the Philadelphia Tribune continues to make a difference in the greater Philadelphia region.  During the school year, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, it publishes The Learning Key which is delivered into the classrooms of Philadelphia Public Schools.  The Tribune annually celebrates African American history and culture at annual Christopher J. Perry/Carter G. Woodson Black History Celebration luncheon.  This month Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro addressed the audience, and Philadelphia School District Superintendent Tony Watlington Sr. was the keynote speaker.  In addition, the Tribune annually celebrates the accomplishments of women during its annual Women of Achievement luncheon.  Triad’s own Yvonne Roberts was recognized in 2019.

In partnership with State Treasurer Stacy Garrity, the Tribune annually works to reunite Pennsylvanian’s with their unclaimed property, and has been an advocate for the Commonwealth’s PA 529 College and Career Savings Program.
